REDCORD
Anti-gravity suspension exercises for physical therapy, fitness and performance training.
With Redcord myofacial testing, we can expose weaknesses, strengths, and potential side differences. From this we can customize a training program for performance enhancement and injury prevention. Most people we see want to know
"Am I at risk of an injury?"
or
"How can I heal from my injury fast?"
Many people we work with have recurrent or acute injury and pain resulting from overworked muscles and weaknesses in muscle interaction. We see it not just in athletes with inefficient power development or recreational athletes with overuse injuries but also among workers with sore backs and stiff shoulders.
Does this sound like you?
During our testing, we can chart weaknesses in muscle interaction, overworked muscles, and what risk you have of an injury. After testing in the slings we can adapt performance enhancing and/or an injury prevention training program. We can help you improve your physical strength and function, optimizing power development while avoiding damage so you can reach your goals!
We will give you answers to your most important questions:
-
How good is my motor control?
-
Is my muscle interaction and power development at optimum levels when I exercise (e.g. am I working smart, or just hard)?
-
Am I at risk of overloads, damages, or injuries?
Here's 7 other things that Redcord can do for you:
-
Uncover side differences and weaknesses in muscle interactions
-
Customize your training program to reduce weaknesses in muscle chains
-
Ensure optimal power development and proper activation of the stabilizing musculature
-
Relieve congested musculature
-
Prevent pain, cramping, and over-strain
-
Improve muscle strength and control
-
Target muscles efficiently and effectively with high specificity for specific sports and activities
How does Redcord Work?
Suspension
Suspension creates fun and challenging exercises for physical rehabilitation and sports performance enhancement. Performing precise movement patterns in unsteady ropes is the foundation of suspension exercise. By leveraging your own body weight as the resistance, you can do hundreds of movements (bridge, plank, squat, pull up, etc.) from just one single device. Each exercise demands total body awareness and accurate muscle control to help you build a lasting core foundation and a stable body in less time than conventional training methods.
Bungee Assisted
Redcord takes suspension exercise to the next level. By introducing slings and bungee cords, we can off-weight and support your body throughout each exercise. Similar to floating in a pool, this “zero-gravity” environment helps you facilitate neuromuscular control of the movement, without the interference of pain and compensation. You can apply higher resistances (i.e., more body weight) by releasing some of the pull of these bungees. You can also add more instability and neuromuscular challenge by shaking the ropes, a technique called perturbation.
Neuromuscular Training
Redcord teaches you how to train smarter, not harder. It incorporates key stabilization exercises into your existing training program. These exercises demand high neuromuscular effort, but without the need for high mechanical load, to help you build exceptional core stability and muscle control. There are bungee cords to assist and guide you throughout the routine. This allows you to focus on the quality and control of each exercise, before introducing more challenging movements, higher resistances and sport specific training. This "bungee assisted" exercise forces high levels of neuromuscular stimulation to help you restore muscle stability and pain-free functional mobility.
For "Every Body"
Only on the Redcord can someone of any age, condition and strength level safely and effectively do suspension based exercises. It creates a unique weightless environment to help bridge the gaps between injury, health and optimal fitness. In conjunction with other training methods, Redcord can get you better and help keep you active and pain-free across your lifespan. Whether you are attempting to perform the simplest physical tasks without pain, or you are preparing for an Olympic event, Redcord offers real solutions to address your needs and achieve your goals.
Redcord Neurac Treatment
NEURAC (NEURomuscular-ACtivation) is an active treatment method for pain that combines bungee-assisted suspension exercises with high levels of neuromuscular stimulation from the ropes to restore strength, stability and pain-free movement control.
Pain Inhibition Cycle
Studies have shown that pain, injury and inactivity can disrupt our neuromuscular system. They alter our brain’s capacity to switch on the right muscles, at the right time, and with the right amount of strength. This loss of muscle control impairs our ability to properly stabilize a joint through its range of motion. As a result, we tend to compensate with other muscles, leading to abnormal movement strategies, muscle strains, and even more pain and restriction.
Neuromuscular Activation
NEURAC aims to reverse this pain cycle by re-activating the person’s neuromuscular system in a completely painless manner. The process begins with a comprehensive movement assessment, from head to toe, to see how the body moves as a whole unit. The physical therapist searches for muscular deficits and abnormal movement strategies contributing to the root cause of the person’s pain. There is also a standardized NEURAC grading scale to quantify the person’s baseline scores and to help “map out” the body. Based on these scores, a treatment program can be tailored for that person.
NEURAC involves a series of suspension exercises combined with high levels of neuromuscular stimulation to help restore strength, stability and movement control. Essential to its success is the provider’s unique ability to apply neuromuscular overload during the exercises, without provoking pain. This is accomplished through Redcord’s patented “bungee assistance” system. Similar to floating in a swimming pool, this weightless environment allows users to focus on each precise movement pattern, without the interference of pain and compensation. Their body weight is slowly added into the routine as they start to re-establish proper control of the movements
